God Is Not Disappointed in You

Hey Reader,

I've got a bonus pick-me-up for you today!

It's a short, 8-minute episode that speaks to the pervasive fear so many of us mothers have.

This fear feeds into our anxiety about our homeschools, our kids, and our parenting, and it convinces us that we're not doing a good enough job with any of it.

The underlying problem is that we believe that God is disappointed in us as mothers.

But God is not disappointed in you.

He is not surprised by anything you are facing in your life, your motherhood, your homeschool, your marriage... any of it.

On your absolute worst days, He's not surprised by how you acted or reacted.

He already knows the worst and hardest and most challenging things that you are facing right now, and He loves you and is calling you to Himself anyway.

I think it's worth remembering that He didn't actually think you would do a better job than you're doing. 😉 He's all-knowing! He's sovereign!

And He's not disappointed in you.

He is not disappointed in:

  • Your kids
  • Your homeschool
  • How you cook (or how often you cook)
  • How clean you keep the house or how much laundry you get done, or whether you even touched it at all
  • How often you read aloud, or pray with your kids, or how much homeschool you got done, or how many activities your kids are in, or whether your kids are still in their pajamas at 4:00 PM

None of this is a disappointment or a surprise to Him.

He loves you. He knew before you even started. And you are not a disappointment to Him.

xo, Sarah

Hey Reader, I don't know about you, but as we usher in 2026, I find myself longing for tranquility and peace even more than usual. If I were to ask you if your life ever felt tranquil, you would probably do one of two things: bust out laughing or look at me like I was from another planet. I get it, I really do. Which is why I’m thrilled to have the author of one of my absolute tippy-top recommended books with me today. Laura Vanderkam is a time management expert, mother of five, and the...

Hi Reader, It's a new year, and that means it's time for a challenge. Not for you you, though. (Don't you already have enough on your plate? 😆) No, I'm talking about a challenge for your kids. The Kids’ Read-Aloud Challenge is a simple way to kick off a great reading year. During the challenge, kids commit to reading aloud for at least 10 minutes a day on as many days as possible throughout the month. When they reach 25 days, they win a reward! You'll be amazed at how much their fluency...

Hi Reader, Last week, I watched my oldest daughter graduate with a Master’s in Theology and the Arts from the most prestigious university in Scotland. When I began homeschooling her way back in kindergarten, I had no idea we’d keep going through high school. I couldn't imagine that this five-year-old girl—a late reader, quite attached to her mama, rather nervous about new experiences—would grow up to travel the world. She'd live in Austria, Uganda, and Scotland… all before the age of 24....
